Q&A with Mrs. Isabella

What department are you in?
Guidance.

How long have you been teaching?
24 years.

What other schools have you been at?
Cardinal Carter, Holy Names, Catholic Central.

What are some things you like about teaching at St. Josephs?
Our St. Joe's school community feels like a family. Students are respectful and accepting of one another. I appreciate the diversity of the student body and the pride students have for their individual heritage and their Canadian identity. I love all the traditions at St. Joe's, especially the St. Joseph's Bread Mass, the Christmas luncheon, the Zakoor Cup, the Laser Lip Sync, and the Grad Flower Ceremony. I feel thankful to work at such an awesome school.

What inspired you to go into teaching?
I had many great teachers growing up. I also loved working with kids and knew this at a very young age. Further, my father always taught me to respect teachers. He had a great admiration for the profession.

Why did you choose to teach your specific subject?
Initially, I wanted to go into law. Social Science gave me the opportunity to teach law. As for Guidance, this is something I trained for several years ago. I love to help students and this role gives me the opportunity to help students in many meaningful ways.

Fun facts about you!
I love to sing and dance, but not in public!
