COVID-19 Resources: Who to call

We recognize that this time of uncertainty can be challenging for our students.  We have put together a list of helplines that are available to support you if you find that you are struggling.  

To access support at school tell your teacher, guidance counsellor or principal.  


Kids Help Phone:  This is the only 24/7 support service available.  Professional counselling, information, and referrals are provided.  Volunteer-led, text-based support is offered in both English and French.  For immediate help you can call or text.

Windsor-Essex County Telehealth Options:

RCC (Replaces Walk-In Clinic): Provides quick, confidential access to mental health services for children and youth up to 18 years of age.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Windsor-Essex Counselling Support Line (24/7 during pandemic): Professional counsellors who are members of the Ontario College of Social Workers.

Maryvale: Offers phone-based single-session mental health services for youth aged 13-17 who are experiencing distress.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Canadian Mental Health Association:

CMHA-WECB has a Pandemic Response Therapist who is available to see new clients (16+ years) who are struggling with moderate-to-severe anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, etc. as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family Services Windsor-Essex: Counselling and advocacy services.

Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County:  Crisis intervention, emotional support, and community referrals.

Hours: 12 noon to midnight every day

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare:  Provides crisis intervention services to students 16 years and older.

Hours: 24-hour crisis line
