Why consider the Baseball/Fastball Academy?


Open to students in Grades 7-12, the Baseball/Fastball Academy will help student athletes learn and improve on advanced individual skills and tactics, while developing a lifestyle on and off the diamond that emphasizes building character through achieving both athletic and scholastic success. Purposeful practices led by highly trained staff, strength and conditioning designed to maximize physical attributes, and a focus on leadership will all position the student athlete to achieve their individual goals.

Technical development focuses on establishing composure, confidence and creativity on and off the field. The following themes are targeted in personal and competitive settings:
  • Hitting
  • Bunting
  • Running the Bases
  • Sliding
  • Throwing
  • Infield Play
  • Outfield Play
  • Pitching
  • Catching

Tactical themes are established to increase an athlete's understanding and passion for the game, translating to a more effective and imaginative presence on the field:
  • Aggressive Base running
  • Situational Hitting
  • Getting Out of a Rundown
  • Defensive Positioning
  • Hit and Run
  • Using the Bunt

Sport specific Training: On-field and indoor training that focuses on the skill execution of all baseball/fastball skills. Sport training sessions are competitive and innovative with a focus on individual needs. Video analysis is an important component of skill development in all areas of the game. Sport specific training sessions take place at Central Park Athletics.

Classroom Sessions: In the classroom players will explore a variety of topics including coaching and leadership, baseball/fastball tactics, mental skills training, and nutrition.

Strength & Conditioning: In-season and off-season training plans are designed for today's serious baseball/fastball athletes. The Baseball/Fastball Skills Academy maximizes the effectiveness of all baseball/fastball specific energy systems focusing on strength, power, agility and sprinting speed.

Academy Registration Fees Details
Elementary September through June Cost $450.00 (Students at Central Park 4 days/week)
  • 75 hours of sport specific training
  • 75 hours of off-court/off-field training (fitness, theory, health curriculum)
Secondary Semestered Cost $300.00 (Students at Central Park 5 days/week)
  • 50 hours of sport specific training
  • 60 hours of off-court/off-field training (fitness, theory, health curriculum)
